We need to be able to understand the transactions and steer it in the right way such that all parties involved in an interaction have genuinely gained from the transaction.
The purpose of TA is to effectively identify the ego states we expect to communicate with. This helps us in figuring out the ego states of the other people and based on that shift our ego states so that our communications are appropriate. By identifying complementary transactions, we may acknowledge the other person’s ego state and also shift their ego state to a different one with appropriate communication. Understanding and practicing this will help you communicate in a more productive way and avoid conflict at workplace.
